Baby and Me Tobacco Free

What it is
A free program designed to help pregnant women quit smoking. We offer this class in partnership with Healthy Communities of Clinton County.

How it works
You’ll need to call us at 765-742-1533 to enroll in the program. After that, you’ll attend at least four prenatal classes that will help you quit. Support is available even after your baby is born, and if you can stay tobacco free after your baby is born you will receive an entire year of free diapers!

What to expect
This class will empower you to quit smoking for the sake of your health and for your baby. You will learn things like coping mechanisms to avoid smoking in the future, how to identify and avoid triggers, and how to cleanse your house of that tobacco smell. You’ll also be connected to resources like the Indiana Quit Line. Baby and Me Tobacco Free offers the information and support you need to make a change for the better.

Call our office at 765-742-1533 for scheduling information!

Safe Sleep Program

What is it?
A short, free class where you can learn about safe sleep practices for your little one.

Who is eligible?
Please give us a call at 765-742-1533 to learn more about eligibility!

Why it’s important
Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) is the unexplained death, usually during sleep, of a seemingly healthy baby less than a year old. SIDS is the most common cause of death in children between one month and one year of age, but thankfully SIDS is sometimes preventable! By taking our Safe Sleep class, you’ll learn how to decrease your baby’s risk of SIDS and keep your little little one happy and healthy. You can read more about SIDS and infant mortality syndrome here.

How it works
You’ll fill out some forms when you arrive, then participate in a 45 minute long class about Safe Sleep.

You can register for Safe Sleep today! Click the button below, scroll down to the section titled “Safe Sleep”, and click Sign Up.

It’s not always easy news to hear that she’s pregnant.

What do you do now? What’s your role? What are your responsibilities?

There’s a huge amount of information available for women facing an unplanned pregnancy, but it’s not so easy to find information to help prepare men for fatherhood. Pregnancy and parenthood is an emotional and life-changing experience for men, too. You need information, support, and the tools to help you through this experience– and we can help!

How can you help during pregnancy?

Be present. Sometimes the best thing you can do for her is just listen.

Be supportive. Talk through the options and decisions together without pressuring her. Come to a decision together.

Be informed. Educate yourself on your rights and responsibilities.

Call us at 765-742-1533 for more information and to register for classes!

STD Testing

How it works: When you get sick, there are usually symptoms- runny nose, fever, aches and pains, that kind of thing- that let you know something is wrong. Many sexually transmitted infections (STIs, aka sexually transmitted diseases, or STDs) don’t have symptoms at all, which means that you could be infected and not even know it! An estimated 20 million people a year are infected with STIs, but many of them aren’t even aware of the infection because they don’t see or feel any symptoms. The only way to know for sure is to get tested.

What to expect: Every first Friday of the month we have a free walk-in clinic at Matrix East on Mezzanine Drive where you can show up (without making an appointment) between 1:00 and 4:00 and get tested for free. After checking in and filling out some forms, one of our medical staff members will administer the test.

Please call ahead to confirm that we will be having a walk in clinic at 765-742-1533.

Ultrasounds

What is it
A safe and effective way to confirm positive pregnancy test results.

How it works
Soundwaves project an image of the baby inside of your uterus. If you’re pregnant, you’ll also see a baby and we’ll be able to estimate how far along you are! It’s free, feel free to bring someone (mom, grandma, father of the baby) along.

What to expect
Call Matrix at (765) 742-1533 for more information about scheduling a free ultrasound. When you do come in for your ultrasound appointment, you’ll fill out a couple of forms and meet with one of our medical staff members for a quick check in. From there you’ll be taken to one of our exam rooms for the ultrasound!

Post Abortion Support

Some have never spoken about it. Maybe they never told family or friends. Every woman feels differently about their abortion experience and each situation, just like each person, is unique.

If you or someone you know has had an abortion and need someone to talk with, Matrix LifeCare offers support in a caring, private, and non-judgmental setting. There is no time limit when it comes to your feelings and struggles. It’s never too late. You don’t have to work through this alone.
